U.S. hackers helped UAE spy on Al Jazeera chairman. The hacker’s operations included hacking into the Internet accounts of human rights activists, journalists and officials from rival governments (Qatar). The UAE created Hacking Project Raven with the help of American intelligence contractors and former senior White House officials. At first, the goal was to crack down on terrorism by helping the UAE monitor militants around the region.
