It was a warm summer evening, and Jane was feeling a little lonely. She had been working long hours at the office and hadn’t seen her boyfriend, Tom, in a few days. As she sat on her couch, she decided to give him a call.
“Hey Tom, it’s me,” she said as he answered the phone.
“Jane! Hey, how are you doing?” Tom replied.
“I’m doing alright. I just miss you, that’s all,” Jane said.
“I miss you too,” Tom replied. “I can’t wait until the weekend. We’ll have a whole two days together.”
“I can’t wait either,” Jane said, feeling a little better now that they were talking. “I just wish you were here right now. Do you miss me?”
“Of course I do,” Tom said. “I miss you all the time. You’re always on my mind.”
Jane smiled to herself. She was so happy to hear that Tom missed her as much as she missed him.
“I’m so glad to hear that,” she said. “I love you, Tom.”
“I love you too, Jane,” Tom replied. “I can’t wait to see you again.”
As they hung up the phone, Jane felt a warm feeling of love and longing. She knew that Tom missed her just as much as she missed him, and that made all the difference.
