Cafe Malacca

Hotel Jen, Hong Kong

Experience the aromatic intoxication of Singaporean and Malaysian street food at Café Malacca.

Café Malacca is one of the must try culinary experiences in the Hong Kong region. A themed restaurant, this place is reminiscent of the hawker-style stalls found in Malaysia and Singapore. The benches and tables appear to draw their design inspiration from Malaysian and Singaporean street stalls. Café Malacca holds the distinction of being a Bib Gourmand restaurant in the MICHELIN guides for the years 2014 and 2015.

During my stay at Café Malacca, I was pleasantly surprised by the gracious room/customer service and the free breakfast. The breakfast buffet featured a large spread of dishes in liberal portions. A few of the dishes were pancakes, yoghurt & cheese, coffee/tea, a bread/bakery station, juice station, and Chinese dim sum. The buffet also featured a noodles and egg station.

Café Malacca is perfect for an intimate evening with friends and/or family. Patrons should ensure to try out the Spicy Penang Char Koay Teow with Duck Egg, the set lunch, the laksa, Hainanese chicken rice, and the mao sang king tong sticky rice balls, a few standout dishes of the establishment.
