Anna
Amsterdam - Netherlands
Anna: Jesus' grandmother, Mary's mother, does not appear in the Bible. However, she is an important Medieval saint. Usually depicted with daughter and grandson as 'Anna te Drie'. Anna is the patron saint of furniture makers, tailors, pregnant women, and bachelors looking for a partner.
Anna belongs to the old center of Amsterdam with dozens of monasteries in the vicinity of the Catholic Old Church. During the Reformation, the monasteries were closed (after 1578), the old churches were reformed, and shelter churches were born. But St. Anne remained. Named forever in the Sint Annen and Sint Annendwarsstraat and since 2011 in restaurant Anna.
