The Houston Housing Authority Announces Data Breach Following Ransomware Attack

On November 15, 2024, the Houston Housing Authority (“HHA”) filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Texas after discovering that the agency was the victim of a ransomware attack. In this notice, HHA explains that the incident resulted in an unauthorized party being able to access consumers’ sensitive information, which includes their names, Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth, and driver’s license numbers….
