Verizon Sends Out Data Breach Letters Following Leaked SSNs

On October 10, 2024, Verizon Communications, Inc. filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Montana after discovering that a server belonging to one of the company’s retail agents was subject to unauthorized access. In this notice, Verizon explains that the incident resulted in an unauthorized party being able to access consumers’ sensitive information, which includes their names, Social Security numbers, phone numbers, and products purchased….
